About Us

Palm Frites is the brainchild of Bobbie and Nick Banda, both retired from the  Air Force with a combined 51 years of service. Bobbie is a trained chef from the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), while Nick earned his cooking chops in his mother’s South Texas kitchen, and to some extent, from Bobbie while she was a CIA student!

In our military journeys, we have lived and dined around the world (see map below), and enjoyed every meal we encountered! While stationed in Belgium, we fell in love with their crispy, twice-fried frites. Since we adore street food of all sorts, we brought the Belgium style frites back to Texas, made them super portable and paired them with delicious toppings inspired by our travels. We hope you love eating the food as much as we’ve loved making it!

 

Menu

Our menu varies daily and seasonally, but below are some of our favorites!

Routine Poutine
Canadian classic! Cheese curds covered in beef flavored gravy.

Southern Fried Poutine
A twist on a Canadian Classic! Breaded cheese curds covered in a beef flavored gravy.

Texas Poutine
Canada meets Texas – Poutine, with seasoned ground beef, shredded cheddar cheese and jalapenos.

The Texican
Fries topped with spiced ground beef, pinto beans, lettuce, diced tomatoes, queso fresco and jalapeños. Served with Bobbie’s Bad A$$ Salsa!

Hahnchenschnitzel
Panko breaded chicken breast cutlet served over fries and garnished with lemon wedges.

Jagerschnitzel
Panko breaded pork loin cutlet over fries, topped with mushroom gravy and sauerkraut.  Jaa!

St Louie Sliders
Two sliders with hickory-smoked pulled pork & BBQ sauce, creamy coleslaw, pickled red onions and house-made dill pickle.

Longhorns
Crispy panko breaded steak strips, served with fries with white country gravy (May sub beef flavored gravy).

Nacho Fries
Fries topped with nacho cheese, jalapenos, and salsa. Add borracho beans or seasoned ground beef.
